Patricia Ryan Jones

May 15, 1936 - July 17, 2023

Patricia Ryan Jones, age 87 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away peacefully Monday night July 17, 2023 at Good Samaritan Living Center. She was born May 15, 1936 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas and moved to Franklinton with her family as a teenager. Pat graduated from Franklinton High School, where she played on the girls’ basketball team. After graduation, she began a career at REA (now WST Electric) as a cashier. Pat worked at the REA for 41 years, working her way up to General Manager before retiring in 1995. She was a longtime member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she attended Sunday school and sang in the church choir. Pat was also a longtime volunteer with the Washington Parish Free Fair, serving as parade chairman and on the stage committee as well as other groups. One of favorite pastimes was eating out with her husband, Marion, and sister and brother in law Peggy and L.J. Vessier. In her later years, she would be found eating lunch with her sister Peggy and friends Marcia Magee and Sue Magee. Pat was an avid reader that loved flowers and watching the birds feed around her home.

Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Hudson and Carla Jones of Franklinton, Scott and Kathi Jones of D’Iberville, MS; 3 Grandchildren and Spouses: Brian and Hannah Jones of Mandeville, Alex and Emily Jones, Sarah Jones all of D’Iberville; 5 Great-grandchildren: Weston Jones, Andy Jones, Paityn Jones all of Mandeville, Avery Jones, Brynn Jones both of D’Iberville; Brother and Sister in law: Rod and Ella Ryan of Friendsville, TN; Also numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Marion Hudson Jones, sister and brother in law Peggy and L.J. Vessier, sisters Geraldine Gibson, Maxine Jones, brother Jim Ryan.

Visitation will be at Hillcrest Baptist Church (2201 Washington Street, Franklinton, LA 70438) on Thursday July 20th from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the church at 11:00 am Thursday with Rev. Dustin Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in the San Pedro Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family wishes to express appreciation to Good Samaritan Living Center for the excellent care given to her the last 10 months and to St. Tammany Hospice for their care recently.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the Hillcrest Baptist Church, House and Grounds Fund at the address above.
