Margaret Bailey King

May 9, 1952 - June 30, 2023

Margaret Bailey King, age 71 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away peacefully at her home Friday night June 30, 2023 after a long 25 year battle with kidney failure. She was born May 9, 1952 in Russellville, Alabama and spent her most of her younger life as a resident of Amite. Margaret was the manager of Main Street Shell in Franklinton for many years. She was an excellent cook with lasagna, pound cake and a delicious banana pudding being some of her family’s favorites. Margaret loved flower gardening, especially her beautiful rose bushes.

Survived by: Husband of 35 years: Mike King of Clifton; 2 Daughters: Victoria Varnado of Stony Point, Beth King of Clifton; 6 Granddaughters and Spouses: Jodi Varnado Ridgedell and Brandon Ridgedell of Loranger, Jami Varnado and boyfriend Mario Athey, Jenna Varnado and fiancé Christopher Waskom all of Stony Point, Cassidy Ardillo of Nederland, TX, Samantha and Isabella Ardillo both of Lake Charles; Grandson: Seth Michael Ardillo of Nederland, TX; 4 Great-grandchildren: Heidi Menard, Bryson Varnado, Juliana Rome all of Stony Point, Luke Ardillo of Nederland, TX; 2 Sisters: Carole Bailey of Pine Grove, Judy Lambert of Denham Springs; Brother: Steve Bailey of Zachary; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family

She was preceded in death by her only son Floyd Joseph Ardillo, mother and step-father Rena Davidson Lambert and Bill Lambert, brother Randy Bailey, father Curtis Bailey, grandson Gage M. Ardillo, father in law and mother in law Charles Bateman, Sr. and Hilda Johnson Bateman.

The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to Washington Parish Dialysis, Dr. Brandon Bean and Dr. David Powers for many years of caring support to Margaret.

A Celebration Of Life for Margaret’s family and close friends will be held at a later date
