Shelton "Red" Pittman

July 27, 1958 - May 27, 2023

Shelton “Red” Pittman, age 64 and of Kentwood, LA, died unexpectedly on May 27th, 2023, due to injuries sustained from a tragic accident a day prior. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Born July 27th, 1958, in Independence, LA to Elaine and William C. Pittman. He worked for many years in the steel industry. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and you could always find him drinking a cup of black coffee. He was a giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. He faced many challenges in life with admirable strength and courage. He was a man of strong faith, and he taught others the importance of family, hard work, and doing what is right. He was part of a large family with many siblings and looked up to each of them. He will always be remembered as their baby brother. He was a true role model who will always be looked up to. In his last selfless act on Earth, “Red” gave the gift of life to others through organ and tissue donation.

“Red” is survived by his wife, Brenda; his daughter, Leslie Lord and husband Robert; brothers and sisters, William Pittman, Tucker Pittman, Larry Pittman (wife Connie), Paul Pittman (wife Sandy), Joan Travis, Edna Simmons, Gloria Glass, Ida Blades, and Kathy Brabham (husband Randy) and his pride and joy his grandchildren: Maddox Williams, Lana Day, Kingston Guilliams, Castin Pittman Temple, Cale Lord, Auna Pittman Temple, and Harper Lord; numerous nieces and nephews.
