William Ray Graham, Jr.

William Ray Graham, Jr., born September 26, 1937, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the age of 85. Bill was employed with GMO Railroad and ICG Railroad for 38 years, retiring in 1998. He was a Navy veteran. He loved woodworking and serving in his church, Ben’s Ford Baptist Church.
He and his wife, Clara Faye, enjoyed a wonderful marriage of 61 years. They enjoyed traveling, shopping and eating out. Bill loved his family, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was recently blessed with the birth of his first great-grandchild.
He was an active member of Ben’s Ford Baptist Church. You could always find him in the kitchen helping with the food for special occasions or building something the church or the school needed.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Clara Faye Thames Graham; a daughter, Tareah Elois (Alan) Mizell of Loranger, LA; two sons, Steven Anthony (Diana) Graham of Loranger, LA; and William Todd (Stacey) Graham of Sheridan, LA; eight grandchildren, Nicholas Graham of Ponchatoula, LA; Allan Mizell (Jessica Raiford) of Loranger, LA; Christopher (Jenny) Graham of Loranger, LA; Amanda (Luc) Badon of Independence, LA; Kayla (Adam) Smith of Lafayette, LA; Brandon Graham of Loranger, LA: Karly McGee of Sheridan, LA; and Camryn Graham of Sheridan, LA; and one great-grandchild, Bennett Graham of Loranger, LA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ray and Elois Graham and his sister, Patricia Ann Graham Mock.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Ben’s Ford Baptist Church, 58521 Highway 439, Bogalusa, LA 70427 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, March 9, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Caleb Martin, Reverend Lynn Martin, and Brother Jimmy Byrd officiating. Interment to follow at Ponemah Cemetery. During the evening visitation on Wednesday a special church service will be held at 6:30 p.m. to celebrate Bill’s life. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Magic City Post #24.
