Deawndra Shantell Taylor

April 12, 1985 - March 23, 2023

Deawndra Shantell Taylor was born April 12, 1985 in Bogalusa, LA to Michelle (Anthony) Marshall and Michael (Glenda) Scott.

Deawndra accepted Christ at an early age, later in life she joined and attended Morning Star Baptist Church in Whatley, AL under the leadership of Pastor Ted Watkins.

She departed her life on March 23, 2023 in Whatley, AL.

Deawndra was a proud mother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, niece, and friend. With Deawndra there was never a dull moment, she was the lie of the party.

Deawndra’s life will always and forever be cherished by her husband Eric Snell of Whatley, AL; six children, Lovoy Bennett of Gulfport, MS, Marques Bennett, Jaz’Lynn and Je’Leon Snell all of Whatley, AL, Hailey Taylor of Columbus, GA, Demond Brooks of St. Louis, MO; her mother, Michelle Taylor Marshall; her father who raised her, Gregory Bickham; her second father, Anthony Marshall; five sisters, Rochelle (Michael) Pam of Odessa, TX, Reshun Moses and Jasma Peters both of Bogalusa, LA, Myria Scoff of Baton Rouge, LA, and LaShae Mingo of Hattiesburg, MS; five brothers, Michael Taylor of CO, Jeffry (Angela) Taylor of Killeen, TX, LaQuonte Turner, and Bradley Moses both of Bogalusa, LATevin Scott of Baton Rouge, LA; her special click, Erica Scott, Krystal Scott, Letha Richardson, Marquita Pigott, LaToya Scott, Shuna Scott, Niki Richardson, Natolie Richardson, Shemeka Smith, Doona Scott, Kristina Smith, Lanequia Scott, Kenyatta Scott Sr., Kenyatta Scott, Jr., Alex Scott, Jacque James; special friend/second mom, Betty Bennett; best friends, Nakita Mark, and Charolette Mangrum; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Deawndra was preceded in death by her loving daughter, La’Kirra Arille; a nephew, Isaiah Taylor; her grandmother, Irma Crain; great grandma, the late Athea R. Pigott; grandfather, Harry Scott; two aunts, Valeria Scott, and Jonell Pigott; uncle, Lizzie Scott; a very special cousin whom she worshiped, Javorius (Jaydayougan) Scott.

A drive through viewing will be held on Monday, April 3, 2023 from 3:00PM - 6:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at 1:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Snell - Officiating. Interment - Ponemah Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
