Slidell Police report that last weekend, Slidell Police Officers responded to the 300 block of Pontchartrain Drive after receiving reports of a firearm being discharged. Prior to officers arrival, two subjects were involved in a physical fight, and during the fight, one of the subjects fired a gun. When officers arrived, they observed two females fighting in the roadway.
The females were quickly separated and later identified as 27-year-old, Lillian Young, and 28-year-old, Deshira Vince. Officers learned that earlier in the night, Vince made a derogatory comment about Lacombe, which is where Young resides. Young did not take kindly to the comment and threw a drink at Vince. Vince then threw a drink back at Young and punched her in the face. Young went to her vehicle, retrieved a gun, and fired approximately four shots. No one was struck during the gunfire. Both suspects were subsequently arrested and charged accordingly.
Young was booked on the charges of Negligent Discharge of a Firearm while in Violation of CDS, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Schedule IV CDS
Vince was booked on the charges of Simple Battery and Disturbing the Peace (Fighting).
