Elizabeth Anders

December 25, 1931 - February 16, 2023

Elizabeth Anders, age 91 and of Franklinton, Louisiana, transitioned into eternity on Thursday, February 16, 2023. She was born on December 25, 1931, and was educated at the Jamieson Creek Preparatory School for the Colored.  She was a homemaker and seamstress and known for her sweet delicacies. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church where she faithfully served as a member. She was an officer of the 3rd District Home and Foreign Mission, a certified Field Missionary under the Third District Bogue Chitto Missionary Baptist Association Senior Women Auxiliary, and the founder of the Community Prayer Band Organization. Elizabeth's greatest joy and love was studying God's word, being a faithful friend, fervently praying for others, and extending words of encouragement.

She leaves to celebrate and carry on her legacy to her daughter, Brenda Hart Hewlett of New Orleans, her Son-in-Love, Rev. Shannon W. Hewlett, her granddaughters, Dr. Juaquana C. Lewis (Kelsey) and Tasia G. Stewart (Steven); her great-grandchildren, Chanel Jackson and Chason Jackson, and a loving and devoted grandson she raised, Jerry Anders and wife Dianna. Her bonus son Ernest Anders, Jr., daughters Charlean Andrews, Faycine Dunham, Helen Anders, Annette Mingo, and a host of bonus grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.

A drive through viewing will be on Friday, February 24, 2023 from 6:30PM – 8:30PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral Services to honor her life and legacy will be held Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00 am at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 44030 Max Brumfield Road, Franklinton, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am until time of funeral services.  Rev. Johnnie Causey, Sr., Officiating. Interment Saint James Cemetery, 44189 LA-38, Franklinton, LA, 70438.
