Larry Earl Burkhalter

April 12, 1946 - December 30, 2022

On April 12, 1946, in Franklinton, Louisiana, Larry Earl Burkhalter was born as the fifth of eleven children to Mildred and Claudia Burkhlater.  He worshiped during his early years at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness USA.  He was a 1965 graduate of Washington Parish High School and a dedicated member of the Tiger Marching Band. Larry retired from Thigpen Concrete Materials after working there for many decades. He was a jokester and left an impact on everyone that he met.

He leaves to cherish his memories five sisters: Jessie Lee Burkhalter of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Daine Jones of Oakland, California; Claudine Harvey of Cleveland, Ohio; Catherine Brumfield and her husband Alvin and Debra Ramsey and her husband Girard all of Franklinton, Louisiana; one sister-in-law Sylvia Burkhalter of Franklinton, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Mildred and Claudia Burkhalter; three brothers James Burkhalter, Johnnie E. Burkhalter Sr., and Rickey Burkhalter Sr.; two sisters Stella L. Carral, Frankie Burkhalter; two brother-in-laws, Larry Jones and Kenneth Carral and one sister-in-law, Vernell Burkhalter.

A drive through viewing will be on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at 2:00PM at Bethel Church of Christ Holiness USA with Rev. Girard Ramsey – Officiating; Elder Alvin Partman – Church Pastor. Interment – Bethel Church Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton are in charge of arrangement.
