Joy Elizabeth Harrington Cheek

April 22, 1960 - January 7, 2023

Joy Elizabeth Harrington Cheek, age 62 and a resident of Ponchatoula passed away Saturday morning January 7, 2023 at her home. She was a native of the Enon Community and was a former longtime resident of Prairieville. Joy loved gardening for her beautiful flowers. She had a special place in her heart for her pet dog Bree and she always enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survived by: 2 Sons and Daughters in law: Shawn and Kelly Cheek of Palm Coast, FL, Brandon and Jande’ Cheek of Ponchatoula; Granddaughter: Chloe Joy Cheek; 4 Brothers and Sisters in law: Jimmy and Sandy Sharp of Franklinton, Trent and Tonya Sharp of Enon, Gary and Michelle Sharp, Keith and Michelle Sharp all of Loranger; Father in law and Mother in law: Lynnis Don Cheek, Sr. and Barbara Cheek; Brothers in law and a Sister in law: Ronald Burch, Forest and Gina New; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was preceded in death by her husband Lynnis Don Cheek, Jr., father Joseph Patrick Harrington, mother and step-father Joyce Crawford Sharp and Andrew Sharp, sister Patti Annette Burch.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) Wednesday January 11th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday with Rev. Leon Hickman officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Cemetery.
