Obituary

Rushell Wilson, Sr.

October 14, 1941 - December 31, 2022

Rushell Wilson, Sr. was born October 14, 1941, to the union of Theadore (Pete) and Willie J Merrell Wilson of Franklinton, La. We are heartbroken that he passed away peacefully at the age of 81. He was the oldest of eleven siblings and accepted Christ at an early age. Rushell moved to New Orleans, La, where he met and married Shirley Guzman Wilson, (3-29-69) and to this union two sons, and one daughter were born. He moved to Houston, TX and worked for Ashland Chemical  until he retired in 2007.

He later met and married Georgia Carter Wilson on January 1, 2000 and raised two stepsons and one stepdaughter. After he retired, he enjoyed watching sports, news, going to the park walking, riding his bicycle, and talking to his buddies. Don’t forget he loved cooking his famous Bullets (red beans). He had a good heart and loved spending time with his family, friends, and loved ones. Rushell was well loved by his family and friends, and you could always find him sitting in his garage watching TV, and don’t walk on his grass.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories, wife, Georgia Wilson; a son, Dana (Pat) and Rushell Jr., (Rudy) Wilson; five granddaughters, Danasha, Aanajah, Aajanea, Jhaunea, R’mani Wilson’ one grandson, Sirhaun Wilson of Houston, TX; three sisters, Flora and Lisa Wilson of Houston, TX, and Alma Hart (sister girl) of Franklinton, LA; three brothers, Homer Wilson, Phillip Tate, both of Franklinton, LA, and Donald (Don) Wilson of Missouri City, TX; step sons, Alvin (Lucky) Carter (Regina), Jahntrel "Trel" Trill, Sr., Dupriest Carter; one step daughter, Tenisha (Patrick) Carter; grandchildren, Angel, Larrecia, Alvin, S’Lric, Mistah, Paisley, Jahntrel "Trill", Ja’Layah; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jacquelyn Marie (Jackie) Wilson; parents, Theadore and Willie J. Wilson; brother, Raphael (Ray) and James Larry Wilson; sister, Bennie R. Davis, and Barbara S. Daniels.
