Barbara Ellen Little Hunt

August 6, 1952 - January 29, 2023

Barbara Ellen Little Hunt, age 70 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Sunday January 29, 2023 after a lengthy illness. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton, where she attended the Circle of Joy Sunday school class and volunteered often. Barbara helped her church in many capacities including volunteering with the Food Bank. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Education and later her Master’s degree in Counselling from Southeastern Louisiana University. Barbara worked as a teacher for many years at Enon Elementary School and later as a counselor at Franklinton Primary School before retiring from the St. Tammany Parish school system after her service there. Barbara was a very giving person and a servant to others, whether through her church or the countless young children she mentored over the years. She loved cooking for her family and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

Survived by: Daughter and Son in law: Shellie and Mike Daniel of the Clifton Community; Son and Daughter in law: Jeremy Reid Hunt and Kim Hunt of South Carolina; Grandchildren and Spouses: Katelyn Daniel, Jon-Michael Daniel, Jeremy Hunt, Jr. and Lani Hunt, Elizabeth Reid Hunt; Step-grandchildren: Joseph and Prater; 5 Great-grandchildren; Sister and Brother in law: Alyce and Skip Carraway of Arkansas; Brothers and Sisters in law: Kenny and Karen Little of Franklinton, Julian and Lisa Little of the Plainview Community, Allen and Charlene Little of Baton Rouge; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hubert Little and Mary Ruth Thomas Little.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday February 1st from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday with Rev. Joey Miller, Dr. Cody Warren and Rev. Mike Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to the many caregivers that provided loving support to Barbara and to the staff of Heart of Hospice.
