Jasper Jerry "J.J." Warner, III

July 23, 1942 - January 11, 2023

Jasper Jerry "J.J." Warner, III, age 80 and a longtime resident of the Warnerton Community passed away Wednesday afternoon January 11, 2023. He was a 1960 graduate of Franklinton High School, where he was voted All-State for the Demons football team and chosen as Mr. FHS his senior year. J.J. obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and then attended the LSU School of Banking. He served as Vice-President and branch manager of Parish National Bank when it first opened in Franklinton and worked in the financial industry for over 20 years. J.J. operated a successful dairy business, Warner Farms, for over 40 years and most recently worked as an agent for Smith & Core Real Estate in Folsom. He was a longtime active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and recently appointed Deacon Emeritus. J.J. taught a Men’s Sunday School Class for 20 years and also organized a 20 year ministry at the Washington Parish Jail. He enjoyed quail hunting and spending time working on his land and around the yard. J.J. was always a hard worker and a stoic gentleman. He was also very kind to all the people he met through business, his church family and his many friends.

Survived by: Wife of 57 years: Ann Williams Warner of Warnerton; Son and Daughter in law: John Benton and Aymie Warner of Fairhope, AL; Grandchildren: William Knox Warner of Baton Rouge, Abigail Elizabeth Warner of Santa Maria, CA, John Luke Warner of Fairhope; Brother and Sister in law: Barry and Sanna Warner of Walker; Brothers in law and Sisters in law: William Addison Burris, II and Pat Burris, Robert Benton Burris and Sandra Burris, Michael Bickham Burris and Kim Burris; A Special Cousin: Denny Denman; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and many dear friends

He was preceded in death by his father J.J. Warner, Jr. and mother Eran Elizabeth Fortenberry.

Visitation will be at Hillcrest Baptist Church (2201 Washington Street, Franklinton, LA 70438) on Sunday January 15th from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the church at 3:00 pm Sunday with Rev. Dustin Pierce and Rev. Ronnie Chaisson officiating. Burial will follow in Ellis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations to the Hillcrest Baptist Church Sanctuary Renovation Fund at the address above.
