Four Arrests Made Following Slidell-area Shooting

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office reports that arrest of four Slidell-area residents following a shooting which occurred this past weekend. 

Saturday (January 28, 2023) morning, deputies with the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office were notified of an investigation being conducted by detectives with the Slidell Police Department regarding a shooting which resulted in a Slidell-area man being hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.  During their investigation, SPD detectives determined the shooting occurred just outside of their city limits, at an address on Shady Lane in Slidell.  As a result, the investigation was turned over to STPSO detectives.

STPSO detectives identified the shooter as Robby Ray. While executing a search warrant at the residence on Shady Lane, STPSO detectives discovered narcotics in addition to evidence related to the shooting.  It was also learned that several individuals assisted in the removal of evidence from the scene in an apparent attempt to conceal evidence from detectives. 

The investigation resulted in the following arrests:

  • Robby Ray, age 18 and of Slidell, on the charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (Felony), Illegal Carrying of Weapons (Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor), Attempted 2nd Degree Murder (Felony), and Obstruction of Justice (Felony). 
  • Courtney Sessions, age 19 and of Slidell, on the charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor), and Illegal Carrying of Weapons (Felony).
  • Courtney Ray, age 44 and of Slidell, on the charges of Possession with Intent to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance (Felony), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Misdemeanor), and Obstruction of Justice (Felony).
  • Yantrel Tyner, age 22 and of Slidell, on the charges of Obstruction of Justice (Felony) and Simple Possession of Marijuana (Misdemeanor).

The investigation is ongoing and more arrests/charges are possible.
