Jerry Vial Tibbs

August 5, 1957 - November 21, 2022

Mr. Jerry Vial Tibbs was born in August 5 ,1957 in Bogalusa, La. to Ms. Thelma Tibbs and Mr. Joseph Jones.

Jerry was a Bogalusa High School graduate of the class of 1976. He went on to Southern University college from August 1976 to May 1978. He joined the United States Navy in 1984. Jerry was known for being the life of the party and loved caring for people.

On November 21, 2022 at his residence, Jerry was called home to be with the Lord. Among those who preceded Jerry in death include his parents, Mr. Joseph Jones, Ms. Thelma Tibbs; His Bonus mom, Hannah Jones; one aunt, Barbara Martin; one uncle, Carlton H. Martin.

Cherishing his memories are his daughters, Jildelle (Michael) Summerow, Chattanooga, TN, Okiciyapi Bonseigneur Colorado Springs, Colorado, YucoLinda Williams, Chattanooga, TN, Joanna Tibbs  Chattanooga, TN, Kiara Hadley and LaKendra Palmer Virginia; one sister, Lora (Perry) Gholar Bogalusa, La; three brothers, Henry (Bonnie) Tibbs, Leonard H. Tibbs NewIberia, LA, Jerry Jones Bogalusa, LA; twelve grand kids and four great grands; a special friend, Frances Newton; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and host of friends.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 11:00AM - 1:00PM followed by the funeral service at 1:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa. Interment – Ponemah Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home, Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
