James Edward Tate
January 28, 1954 - December 11, 2022
James Edward Tate, age 68, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 11 in Franklinton, Louisiana. A lifelong resident of Franklinton and retiree of St. Tammany Parish Hospital, James was the husband of Lisa Kohla Tate and father to James Mitchell Tate of Franklinton and Janene Tate of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Tate is also survived by his sister, Evelyn Tate of Franklinton; sister Brenda Gatlin and brother-in-law Jerry Gatlin of Franklinton; sister Renet Tate and brother-in-law Jacob Tate Sr.; sister Rene Brumfield and brother-in-law Otis Brumfield of Hot Spring, Arkansas; brother John R. Tate of Panama City Beach, Florida; and sister-in-law Gloria Tate. He will be missed by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, colleagues and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Tate Sr.; mother, Waver Robinson Tate; brother, Elvis Tate; brother, Clarence Tate Jr.; and two infant sisters.
A viewing will be held from 1:00PM – 3:00p.m. followed by the funeral services at 3:00PM at Faith in the Word Ministry located at 23749 Hwy 430 in Franklinton with Pastor Jacob Tate Jr. - officiate. Interment will be at Moriah Cemetery in Franklinton.
Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton is in charge of arrangements.
