Mary Lou Terrell Gill

December 14, 1945 - November 23, 2022

Mary Lou Terrell Gill, age 76 and a resident of Mount Hermon, passed away Wednesday night November 23, 2022, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family. In her younger years, she worked as a compassionate and caring nurse. Later, she worked alongside her husband Daniel on the family dairy farm. Mary Lou was a true example of what a loving and devoted Christian wife and mother should be. She was a friend to everyone she met and had a sweet, gentle spirit that was complimented by a zest for living life to the fullest. She was a longtime active member of Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church. She loved God and gladly shared her faith and all that God had done for her with many people. She served her church in many capacities including piano player, Sunday School teacher and faithful member. She lovingly prepared many meals in her home for various pastors and visiting preachers, as well as their families. Mary Lou will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She cherished her family and clung to her faith even during the darkest days of her life, showing all those around not only how to live but also how to die. She will be forever missed.

Survived by: Husband of 58 years: Daniel William Gill; Daughters and Sons in law: Dana and Mark Harrison of Tylertown, MS, Loralyn and Rick DeRoche of Covington, Karen and Todd McDonald of Franklinton; Grandchildren and Spouses: Andrew and Ariana Harrison, Luke and Lori Harrison, Hope Harrison, Mitch and Megan Waguespack, Shelby McDonald, Caleb McDonald, Jacob McDonald; Great-grandchildren: Lily Harrison, Leia Harrison, Levi Harrison, James Harrison and expected great-granddaughter Amelia Waguespack; Sisters and Brothers in law: Billy Sue Spears, Gloria and Glynn Haley, Charlotte and Michael Williams, Patsy and Harold Ritchie; Brother: Tommy Terrell; Sisters in law and Brothers in law: Judy Gill, Linda and Ronald Tamor, Earl and Rachel Gill, Cindy and Joe Roberts, Marie Webb, Richard Gill, Patricia and Bob Perdue, Edna Jean Terrell; Also numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members

She was preceded in death by her precious granddaughter Marlee Brooke Harrison, her parents William Terrell and Lendorse Pittman Terrell, brothers Larry Terrell, William Terrell, brother and sister in law Clyde and Alice Terrell, sister and brother in law Brenda and Eugene Martin, brothers in law Wyman Gill, Perry Gill, Tommy Webb, Willie Jay Spears, sister in law Jeanne Terrell.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Monday November 28th from 10:00 am until 2:30 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:30 pm Monday with Eld. Mark Harrison, Eld. Billy Reyer, Eld. Mark Hobgood and Eld. Duane Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
