Obituary

Cathleen Faye Taylor Lee

August 11, 1949 - September 26, 2022

Catherine "Faye" Taylor Lee was born on August 11, 1949 to the late Wiley and Norma Taylor in Bogalusa, La.

Faye attended and graduated from Washington Parish High School. She later moved to Washington D.C. along with her two sons, and attended Armstrong Adult Education Center, where she also graduated and became employed for the United States Government Publishing Office.  On July 21, 1973 Faye married Silas Conerly and to this union one daughter was born, Pokeila Conerly Miller. She later divorced and moved back to Louisiana and became employed for the Franklinton Police Department for many years.  After her departure from the Police Department, she worked as a CNA where she later retired.

On December 28, 1991, Faye happily married Robert E. Lee of Hackley, Louisiana, and shared 10 years of matrimony before his passing in June of 2001.

Faye was a loving mother to her 3 children (Cedric, Lamar, and Pokeila). She valued family more than anything, and held the same love for her community.  Whether a hot meal or a place to stay, she did what she could to make a difference in the lives of others.  Faye was very outspoken and never had a problem saying what needed to be said, but it would always be out of love. Faye was not the type to visit many people, you could always find her in the comfort of her home or at the grocery store.   She was such a joy to be around many loved her company, wisdom, and her giving heart.  For those who really knew her, was to love her, If you needed a good laugh, she was definitely your go to person. 

Faye was preceded in death by her father, Wiley Taylor, mother, Norma Taylor; Brothers, Emil Taylor, Phillip Taylor, L.C. Taylor, and Lawrence Taylor; sisters, Dorothy Crosby, and Yvonne Henry, husband,  Robert E. Lee; grandchild, Cornelius Davis; and sister-in-law, Emma Taylor

Faye leaves to cherish her memories three children, Cedric L. Dawson of Richton Park, IL, Lamar T. Taylor of Franklinton, La, and Pokeila N. (Louis) Miller of Pearland, TX; grandchildren, Joshua Magee, Martinique Pates, Amber Brown, Tanya Williams, India Davis, and Malik Laurant; great grandchildren, Lyla Brown, Chi'Kelle Brown, Chamychal Brown Jr., and Kaiden Laurant; two sisters, Sandra Gayle ( James Earl ) Brock of Chicago, IL, and Wilda Magee of Houston, TX; two brothers, Allen Taylor and Tommy Bell both of Franklinton, La; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and Friends.

Viewing will be Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 9:00AM – 11:00AM at Sweet Home COGIC followed by Funeral Service at 11:00AM with Elder Kevin Golden- officiating . Interment –Sweet Home Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home, Franklinton are in charge of arrangements.
