Bobbie McGehee Coltharp

December 2, 1931 - October 2, 2022

Bobbie McGehee Coltharp, age 90, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, in St. George, UT. She was born December 2, 1931, in Kentwood, Louisiana to Holt and Gladys McDaniel McGehee. Bobbie married George Bernard Coltharp in Baton Rouge Louisiana on December 12, 1953.

Bobbie graduated from Spring Creek High School and then completed business school in Baton Rouge. She worked as the department secretary for the School of Forestry at Louisiana State University where she met her future husband, George.

Bobbie and George lived in Ft. Collins, Colorado and East Lansing, Michigan during George’s graduate school years. Following graduate school, they lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, DeRidder, Louisiana, Logan, Utah and Lexington, Kentucky. After the loss of her husband, she returned to Utah to be close to family.

Bobbie placed her faith in Jesus Christ as a young teen and walked with Him faithfully for the remainder of her life. She loved being a homemaker, caring for her husband and her daughters, volunteering in church and community and spending time with friends around a bridge table.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband George, and her three sisters: Jerry Benefield, Katherine Bryan, and JoAnn Ingram. 

Bobbie is survived by her daughters Susan (Durward) Ream of St. George, Utah, and Becky (David) Cox of Madera, California. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brian Conrad, Sarah Conrad Lewis, Daniel Cox, Abigail Cox Welch, and Jacob Cox and her eight great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Southgate Senior Living and Atlas Hospice of St. George, Utah for the kind and loving care shown to Bobbie and her daughters.

Bobbie will be laid to rest next to her husband George in a graveside service on October 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at East Fork Baptist Church 17278 Highway 1054 Kentwood, Louisiana 70444.
