Lillian T. Davis

January 23, 1936 - October 19, 2022

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Sister Lillian T. Davis was born January 23, 1936 to the late Marvin and Effie Magee Toomer. She was the fifth child of seven siblings. She departed this life October 19, 2022.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Bro. Joe N. Davis, Sr. for 56 years. And to this union two children were born.

Sister Lillian was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend who lovingly gave to many She was well known for her Homemade Lemon Pound Cake and her many decorative handmade quilts. She shared and helped others in so many ways

Sister Lillian leaves to cherish her memories one daughter Debra Averhart of Baton Rouge LA one son Joe N. Davis Jr. of Franklinton LA two sisters Otheal Wilson of Franklinton LA and Sarah "Nett" Harvey of Los Angeles, CA Three grandchildren Oshodd Averhart of Prairieville, LA Jolanda (Justin) Amey of Spanish Port, AL and Jovell (Krista) of Spanish Port AL. Seven great grandchildren Kyla Averhart, Langston Averhart, Jalen Davis, Kensley Amey, Kingstin Davis, Morris Davis, and Amir Davis. One special daughter Terry Lynn (Kendrick) Robinson of Franklinton, LA and a host of relatives and friends.

Sister Lillian was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, a choir Homemade Lemon Pound Cake and her many decorative handmade quilts. She shared and helped others in so many ways

Sister Lillian was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, a choir member, a member of the usher board, and decorating committee.

She was preceded in death by her husband Bro. Joe N Davis Sr. Her parents Marvin and Effie Toomer one brother Oliver Toomer. Three sisters Jerry Taylor, Cora L. Dykes and Elaine Conerly.

Visitation will be at Cook-Richmond Funeral Home on October 28, 2022 at from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a Family Gathering from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on October 29, 2022 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
