Olen Hilry Flynt
January 5, 1928 - October 2, 2022
Olen Hilry Flynt, age 94 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away early Sunday morning October 2, 2022. He was a longtime member of Crain’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church and a former self-employed dairyman. Hilry was retired after a long career as a bus driver for Thomas School. He loved riding his Goldwing motorcycle and taking his motorhome on camping trips all over the area and even further destinations. Hilry was an avid basketball fan. He loved to watch games on TV and also attend as many games as he could. He very much enjoyed driving the school basketball teams to their games each season. Hilry liked to work outside in his yard and eat meals with his family, especially his favorite fried oysters.
Survived by: Children and Spouses: Lawana Penton of Bogalusa, Herb and Kitty Seals of Baton Rouge, Phyllis Whitfield, Jauan and Ricky Ramshur all of Franklinton; Daughter in law: Dewana Flynt of Pine; Grandchildren and Spouses: Cain and Kim Flynt, MaryAnna and Justin Holly, Alex Penton, Courtney and George Freeman, Josh and Stephanie Seals, Ryan and Tiffany Ramshur, Taylor and Veachel Tucker, Whitney and Forest Walker, Carlie Whitfield, Jesse Whitfield; 14 Great-grandchildren and 6 Great-great-grandchildren; Also numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends
He was preceded in death by his son Bernie Warren Flynt, wives Ludy Merle Stogner Flynt, Helen Crain Flynt, parents Alan Alexander Flynt and Cynthia Crain Flynt, brother Edsel Flynt and son in law Scott Whitfield.
Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Wednesday October 5th from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday with Eld. Doyle Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Crain’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
