Three Arrested for Robbery / Homicide in Bogalusa

Bogalusa Police report that a robbery turned to murder early Wednesday (June 15, 2022) morning at an apartment in the 300 block of Second Avenue in Bogalusa, Louisiana and three suspects were in custody by Wednesday evening.

Bogalusa Police Officers arrested Freddie McGowan, a 46 year old Bogalusa resident, for the First Degree Murder of 50 year old Travis Davis. Police were called to the apartment shortly after 7 am Wednesday morning. There, police discovered the body of Davis who died of gunshot wounds. Detectives quickly identified several persons of interest, conducted interviews, and determined that Davis was the victim of an armed robbery that escalated to his murder. McGowan was identified as the shooter, and two females were identified as having been involved. 

McGowan was charged with First Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, Armed Robbery with a Gun, and Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery. Teretha Johnson, a 43 year old Bogalusa resident, was arrested and charged with the same offenses as McGowan. Also arrested was Anna Peters, a 55 year old Bogalusa resident, charged with Principal to Armed Robbery and Failure to Seek Assistance. Bogalusa Police report that all three suspects have lengthy criminal histories.

The Criminal Patrol Division, Detective Division, and Violent Crimes Task Force are to be commended for their hard work on the case, and quickly solving this crime.

The investigation is still active and ongoing, so more details of the crime cannot be released at this time.
