Betty Jean Goings Magee

October 23, 1937 - May 30, 2022

Betty Jean Goings Magee, age 84 and a resident of Franklinton, died Monday evening May 30, 2022 at North Oaks Medical Center. She was born in Mt. Hermon on October 23, 1937 to the late Arlie Goings and Alma Riley Goings. Betty was the youngest and last surviving of 10 siblings. She was married to the late Leo Givens and together they had 3 sons before then marrying the late Gilbert Magee. Betty enjoyed watching her favorite TV programs and listening to gospel music. She loved fishing with her family and grandchildren and cherished all the time they were able to spend together.

Survived by: 2 Sons: Jerry Arlie Givens, Kenneth Givens; Grandchildren: Misty Givens Paine, Donna Bennett, Kenny Givens, Anthony Givens, Brandon Givens, Shaun Givens, Austin Givens, Dustin Givens; 14 Great-grandchildren and 1 Great-great-grandson; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

She was also preceded in death by her son Bruce Edward Givens, grandson Brian Givens, granddaughter Caramie Givens, great-grandson Mason Givens and siblings Ethel Goings, Arlie “A.T.” Goings, Jessie Lee “Jerri” Goings, Bessie Lee Goings, Henry Goings, Adrian Goings, Milton Goings, Elton Goings, David Goings and other family members.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Thursday June 2nd from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 am Thursday. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
