James Paul "Jimmy" Knight, Sr.

April 18, 1946 - May 15, 2022

James Paul "Jimmy" Knight, Sr., age 76 and a resident of Kenner, passed away early Sunday morning May 15, 2022. He was a native of the Pine Community in Washington Parish but had been a longtime resident of Kenner. Jimmy was a truck driver for many refineries and also hauled cargo before retiring. He enjoyed different types of hunting and the outdoors. Jimmy always loved to take his boat out fishing, shrimping and crawfishing. He liked to watch football games and was a New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers fan. Jimmy also enjoyed watching his favorite old Western movies and TV shows.

Survived by: Wife: Cheryl Thomas Knight of Kenner; Sons: Michael Beal of Bogalusa, James Paul Knight, Jr. of Harahan; Daughters and Sons in law: Heather Warner, Tiffany and Kenny Perrileaux, Stephane Knight Smith and Johnathan Smith; Grandchildren: Ashley and Jason Lawrey, Hydie Knight DeHart and Natalie DeHart, James “Trey” Knight, III, Brittney Perrileaux, Taylor Perrileaux, Reily Perrileaux, Ryan Smith, Austin Smith, Easton Smith; Great-granddaughter: Addison Lawrey

He was preceded in death by a young son Christopher Scott Knight, mother Ontee Knight and first wife Judy Knight Ballew.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton) on Thursday May 19th from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Thursday with Rev. David Easterling officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine First Baptist Church Cemetery.
