Obituary

Jim Carol Pierce

September 16, 1947 - May 9, 2022

Jim Carol Pierce, age 74 and a resident of Franklinton, passed away Monday May 9, 2022 at his home after a lengthy illness. He was a graduate of Tylertown High School before earning his Bachelor’s degree in history from Mississippi State University. Jim then honored his country in the United States Army by serving two tours during the Vietnam War. Upon returning home, Jim, alongside his father, was the owner/operator of J.C. Pierce and Son trucking serving the dairy industry in and around Washington Parish. He later began a career as an insurance salesman before retiring. Jim was a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church and truly loved the Lord, his church and church family. He believed in the power of prayer and was a prayer warrior for his family, church and others in need. His prayers were always thoughtful, gracious, uplifting and empowering to all those that had the opportunity to hear him speak to his Lord and Savior.

At the age of 50, Jim lost nearly all of his vision, but he never let that affect his demeanor. He lived life to the fullest extent despite what many would consider a disability. With his beloved wife by his side, together they attended every activity, sporting event or dance recital of their grandchildren. They attended church services, all family gatherings and community events. Despite his troubles, he kept a positive attitude and loved to joke around with and act as a prankster to his family and friends. His kind-spirited personality remained the same throughout his blessed life. He truly adored his grandchildren and family and will be forever missed by all those that knew him.
