Jeffrey Duane Magee

December 3, 1959 - April 26, 2022

Jeffrey Duane Magee departed this earthly life at the age of 63, Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa.  He was affectionally known as “Paso”.

For many years, Jeffrey lived in New Orleans and worked for the Orleans Parish School System before moving back to Bogalusa.

The simplest pleasures of life brought great joy to Jeffrey (Paso).  He loved helping and being surrounded by his friends and family.  His pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met.  His battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile.

He is survived by his children: Jeffreyanna King of Baton Rouge and Kendrick McGowan of Gulfport, MS; one grandchild; two sisters: Bernette Magee of Bogalusa and Beverly (Curtis) Fairley of Lithonia, GA; four brothers: Donald Ray Magee and Darryl Magee of Bogalusa, Keithon (Teryon) Magee and Todd (Janet) Magee of Austell, GA; special friends: Martha Hall, Teresa Scott, Shondra Causey, Leroy Jackson, William Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephew, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard James (BJ) and Lola Mae Magee; two sisters Mildred Magee and Barbara Ann Magee; one brother, Bernard (Peanie)Magee; his paternal grandparents, Rosco and Beatrice Magee; his maternal grandparents, Ira and Zora Elzey and a special friend, Benny Alexander.

Drive through viewing will be Friday, May 6, 2022, from 4pm – 6pm at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 2pm at Crain and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Stanley Nathaniel officiating. Interment will be at the Bogalusa Cemetery.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa is in charge of arrangements.
