Obscenity Arrest in St. Tammany – The 3rd This Month

The St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested another man – the third one this month - for committing sexual acts in a public parking lot.

A deputy, who was patrolling in the area of Highway 1085 and Highway 1077, was flagged down by a citizen around midday Thursday (April 28, 2022) in reference to a man who was observed masturbating in his vehicle in a nearby parking lot.

The individual had left his vehicle and was inside one of the stores picking up an order when the deputy arrived.  Upon exiting the store the man was confronted by deputies, reportedly confessed and was taken into custody.

Travis Manint, age 42 and of Covington, is being booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail on one count of Obscenity, which is a felony.

“We will continue to take these crimes seriously,” Sheriff Randy Smith said. “If you observe someone committing such acts, please call 911 immediately, as individuals who commit these crimes often escalate to committing more serious crimes in the future.”
