Larry Q. Barber

February 26, 1951 - April 20, 2022

Larry Q. Barber, age 71 and a resident of the Warnerton Community, died early Wednesday morning April 20, 2022 at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He was a longtime truck driver for Stranco and later worked as an equipment operator for A-1 Sand and Gravel for several years. Larry always loved driving big trucks. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors. Larry also enjoyed working in his garden.

Survived by: Wife: Janice Schilling of Warnerton; 4 Daughters and Sons in law: Tincie Lagina and Lonnie Starnes, Fay Barber all of Franklinton, Jennifer Bateman of Covington, Belinda and Virgil Crain of Franklinton, Jennifer Bennett of Picayune, MS; Son: Codie Barber of Franklinton; Sisters: Patricia Thomas, Odeal Gaines both of Franklinton; Grandchildren: Katelyne, Courtney, Kelsey, Meghan, Hope, Lonnie, Maddyson, Jayden, Lizzie, Austin, Hayley, Eli, Wyatt, Cassandra, Jordan, Hunter; Great-grandchildren: Kylie, Beretta, Mackenzie, Braxton, Ja’Khel, Brantley, Braylon, Brice, Brodie, Blake; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death his son Larry Dewayne Barber, first wife Bonnie Hyatt Barber, parents Tincie Barber and Novia Booty Barber, sisters Carolyn Jenkins, Leatrice Williams, Bonnie Sue Sawyer, brother Grover Dedon, brothers and sisters in law Jerry and Geneva Barber, Eugene and Martha Barber, Zeke and Cecile Barber, sisters and brothers in law Gertrude and Silas Bryant, Ella Rose and Ellis Sawyer.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home Friday April 22nd from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm Saturday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Saturday with Rev. Rusty Barber and Rev. Tim Brady officiating. Burial will follow in the William Sharp Cemetery.
