Barbara D. Hunter Lathan

June 26, 1933 - April 16, 2022

Barbara D. Hunter was born to the late Mrs. Pinkey Ruffin Holmes and the late Mr. David Hunter.  She came to God early in life and became a member of the Bethal Reform Methodist Church for several years, under the leadership of Pastor Peter S. Aktkins.  She later in life became a faithful member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.  She was married twice.  Her first husband was the late Cepheus Harper, Sr. of Abita Springs, La.  She later married to Leonard Lathan of Uneedus, La.

She leaves to cherish her memory:  five children, Doris Williams (Charles) of Folsom, La, Cepheus Harper of Abita Springs, La, Carolina Cousin (Alex) of Pinebluff, Arkansas, Renee’ L. Cyprian of Dallas, Tx and Sandra Johnson Rogers of Covington, La; Nephew. Jerome Hunter (Pat) of Slidell, La; Niece, Eva Hunter of Covington, La; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

She was proceeded in death by her first husband, Cepheus Harper, Sr., her parents, Mrs. Pinkey Ruffin Holmes and Mr. David Hunter; siblings, Magdalene Reed, Peter James Hunter, and David Hunter, Jr.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on April 22, 2022 at Midway Church of Christ Holiness, USA in Folsom, Louisiana.

Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements.
