Obituary

Peggy Sue Cook

April 05, 1954 - March 23, 2022

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." Isaiah 40:31

Peggy Sue Cook, a resident of Amite, LA, passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at her home. She was born April 5, 1954 in Bogalusa, LA and was 67 years of age.

She was a member of Tangipahoa Baptist Church. She spent many years providing for others and always lending a hand. She never turned anyone away, if she didn't have it to give she would find a way to help others if they needed it. She was the most selfless and kindest person you could ever meet. Everyone knew her as mawmaw Peggy or Momma Peggy. Anyone who knew her knew how much she loved her family. She taught us many lessons of strength and forgiveness. Her love and laughter will continue to encourage us every day. You will be truly missed.

She is survived by her son, Michael Ogima, Sr.; daughter, Tessa Jarrell; 3 grandchildren, Kelsey Hilbun, Michael Ogima, Jr., and Shaneah Jarrell; 4 great-grandchildren, Aubrey Kent, Klayton Evans, Hannah Ogima, and Sophia Ridgedell; sister, Tammy Rayborn; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband, Michael Cook; son, Christopher Cook; 2 sisters, Patricia Lambert and Linda Spiers; and a brother, Steve "Bug" Ogima, Jr.

A Memorial Service will be held on April 2, 2022 at 11:00AM at Tangipahoa Baptist Church.

McKneely Funeral Home, Amite, in charge of arrangements.
