Obituary

Peggy Sue Dunaway Schilling

March 29, 1943 - February 27, 2022

Mrs. Peggy Sue Dunaway Schilling peacefully departed this life, to gloriously meet her Lord and Savior face to face, on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at 10:21 p.m. She was 78 years old and a lifetime resident of Washington Parish. She was born on March 29, 1943, to the late Bill and Elsie Dunaway.

She is survived by her three daughters, Sheree (Acy) Barber of Baldwyn, MS, Rebecca (Chris) Mitchell, Toni Lemly, and her former husband, Lawson Schilling, Jr., all of Bogalusa, LA. She is also survived by her two sisters, Carolyn (Glenn) Bell of Plano, TX and Barbara Craft of Florence, MS. She has nine grandchildren: Benjamin and Nicholas Barber, Bradley Mitchell, Emily Mitchell Pounds (Reid), Hailey Mitchell Flores (Erick), Londen Mitchell, Mason Dean and Katy and Alex Lemly. And one great grandbaby whom she absolutely adored.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Sam and Mae Toney of the Star Hill Community and paternal grandparents, Ira and Lou Etha Smith Dunaway of Bogalusa. Also preceding her was her first grandchild, Allen Lawson Barber. No doubt they are all praising and worshiping Jesus together as we speak!

Although our hearts are broken for our temporary separation, we praise the Lord for our eternal hope of heaven to all of those who have trusted in Jesus as their personal Savior. There will soon come a day when we will all be gathered home and where there will be no more separation, pain or sorrow. What a great reunion that will be. It is such a comfort to know where our momma is and that she is finally pain free! Praise the Lord!

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, in the Ben’s Ford Baptist Church Cemetery at 11 a.m. with Bro. Acy Barber officiating.

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4
