Mary Ann Nelson Breland

March 29, 1943 - February 25, 2022

Mary Ann Nelson Breland, age 78 and a resident of Lafayette, died Friday February 25, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Heart Hospital. She was born March 29, 1943 in San Diego, CA during her father’s military service. She was raised in Bogalusa, also living in Mount Hermon for a time. Mary was a former longtime resident of Baton Rouge and later Denham Springs, before moving to Lafayette to be nearer to family. She loved crocheting and reading her Bible. Mary also enjoyed watching the Jimmy Swaggart television program each day. She loved her cat “Socks” and spending time with her family and friends.

Survived by: 2 Daughters and Sons in law: Cathy and Paul Schexnayder of Duson, Chyvonne and Brock Arceneaux of Breaux Bridge; Son: Kenneth Paul Breland, Sr. of Zachary; Grandchildren and Spouses: Brandon Breland, Krystal Romero, Kenny Breland, Jr. and Megan Peters, Heather and Lyle Guidry, Summer and Dustin Tagert, Cheyenne Wofford and Charlie Hebert, Dakota Wofford and Jeffrey Ellis, Anslee Arceneaux, Aiden Arceneaux; Great-grandchildren: Emma Grace, Grayson, Mikayla, Lillian, Colton, Jacob, Carson, Camille, Joe, Kialin, Jade, Ava, Hadley Grace; Also numerous other family members and friends

She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Breland, parents Clifford Nelson and Mary Anne O’Brien Nelson, grandchildren Joshua Breland, Jonathan Breland, Corey Ivy, Gracie Rushing.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton, LA) on Wednesday March 2nd from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Wednesday with family member Todd Breland officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hermon Cemetery.
