Gwendolyn Lundie

January 22, 1958 - March 1, 2022

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance”  Ecclesiastes 3:1-4

Gwendolyn Lundie was born January 22, 1958, to the late Otha Page and Helen Page- McKenzie in Bogalusa La. Gwendolyn graduated from Bogalusa High school in 1976 where she was on the Bogalusa Pep Squad. She briefly attended Southern University of Baton Rouge LA with her friend Emelda Clark.

Gwendolyn was known to the community as “Ms. Gwen” and always shared a beautiful smile. Gwen was always in the medical field and shared 16 long years with Christwood Retirement Community. There she was the CNA supervisor and director of Transportation. Ms. Gwen was loved by her most recent Job at the Bogalusa Rehabilitation Hospital. Gwendolyn touched many lives from the love she showed everyone she met. She was a devoted FiancĂ©’, Mother, sister, aunt and friend.

Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memories her husband in spirit, James Powell of Bogalusa, LA; a niece who she helped raise as her daughter, A’nijah Pam of Mandeville, LA; one aunt, Ida Faye Lundie of Atlanta, GA; two uncles, Robert Lundie of Bogalusa, LA, and Johnny Lundie of Slidell La and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Otha Page and Helen Page–McKenzie; son, Perry (Stank) Lundie; four brothers, Larry and Mark Page, Kenneth and James Lundie.

Drive through viewing on Friday, March 11, 2022 from 4:00PM - 6:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home.

Funeral service Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 3:00PM at Crain and Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Wayne Peters - Officiating. Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home - Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
