Obituary

Roger Dale Baker, Sr.

December 20, 1960 - January 29, 2022

Roger Baker, the youngest son of Robert Eugene and Lillie Mae Baker, gained his wings on Saturday, January 29, 2022. Roger was a long time resident of Louisiana, growing up in Plainview and spending time in other areas. His home for the last 18 years was Mississippi. Roger was a beloved family man and friend. No one who ever met him, met a stranger. With a smile and laugh as big as he was, every room will now feel a little emptier. He was a passionate cook and showed his love through full stomachs and laughs. No matter what you called him, or what he was to you.

Ole' Boy, Daddy, PawDad, Uncle Rog, Paw Paw, or Friend...

He loved you all very much.

In 1983 he married the love of his life, Cheryl, and had a total of 6 children. Brandi, Roger Jr., Joseph, and 3 angels.

He leaves behind his wife, Cheryl; His surviving children, Brandi, Roger Jr. and Joseph; 3 Grandchildren, Blaze Baker, Lestat Baker and Violet Landry; His sisters, Gwen and Lisa; an adopted daughter named Dena; Many very close nieces and nephews and friends; Loved ones that weren't blood but should have been.

He is preceded in death by his 2 older sisters, Barbara Ann Baker-Kennedy and Elizabeth Pearl Fairburn; His brother, Robert "Skipper" Baker; His parents Robert and Lillie Baker; Many others gone too soon.

Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana is in charge of arrangements which are incomplete at this time.
