Preston Pierce Dillon

July 12, 1926 - February 2, 2022

Preston Pierce Dillon transitioned from this life from the very house and the very room he was born into 95 years ago. He was born July 12th, 1926 in Walthall County Mississippi. He passed from this walk of life February 2, 2022. He is preceded in death by his parents Carl C. and Dora Ard Dillon, who were the proud parents of 15 children. He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Jeanette Dillon. One son, Rev. Jerry W. Dillon (Sandra) of Madison, MS; Linda Moak (Russell) of Franklinton, Louisiana, Betty Keen (Garland) Tylertown, and Peggy Dillon Hilburn of Tylertown, MS, One sister Hazel Jones, 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. He served six terms as District 1 supervisor for Walthall County, and was a respected leader in the county for many years. His success was he loved people and was willing to help anyone in need. His greatest joy was his children and grandchildren, who would get anything they wanted from papaw simply by giving him a hug. One memory that stands out in his latter years was at Christmas, when the grandkids were running and playing wildly. He looked at his son, Jerry Wayne, and said, “The brightest lights of Christmas are the tail lights.”

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Stateline Pentecostal Church. 494 Simon Rd. Tylertown, MS 39667.

Pallbearers will be Jason W. Dillon, Jeffrey Dillon, Justin Gibson, Jared Dillon, Gary Wood, and Jason Duane Dillon.

Honorary pallbearers will be Daryl Holt, Malcolm Fortenberry, Larry Martin, J.W. Wood, Chester Dillon, and M.L. Dykes.

Hartman Hughes Capps Funeral Home in Tylertown, Mississippi is in charge of arrangements.
