Carnell Warren Tate

March 24, 1935 - January 25, 2022

For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: II Timothy 4: 6-7

Early Tuesday morning, January 25, 2022 God walked through his garden of life and picked a special rose for his heavenly bouquet.  Sis. Carnell Warren Tate quietly slipped away to her eternal home, not a whimper, nor pain, and she was gone. God whispered come home my child and rest from your labor a job well done!

Sister Carnell Warren Tate was born on March 24, 1935 in Franklinton, LA to the late Mr. Alfred and Dora (Burton) Warren. She was a faithful and devoted member of the Greater Hayes Creek M.B. Church. She worked on the Usher Board welcoming people into the congregation and Broadcasting Committee in any capacity of the church she was needed.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and a born again Christian and friend.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Winzlo Tate, Sr. and to this union seven children were born.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Tate Bickham; her mother and father; nine sisters, Allie Mae Williams, Smiley Davis, Ruthie Mae Anders, Kizzie Cotton, Ada Burton, Lillie Mae (Dollie) Sanders, Hynethia Graves, Margie Carney, and Irabella Dillon; four brothers, James Warren, Alfred Warren, Jr., Tom Warren, and Major Warren; one son-in-law, Wallace Walker.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Winzlo Tate, Sr.; two daughters, Kathy Tate Walker, and Edith (Kenneth) Warren both of Franklinton, LA; four sons, Rev. Jimmy (Nettie Lee) Tate, Cedric (Jeanette) Tate, and Alton Tate all of Franklinton, LA, and Winzlo Tate, Jr. of Slidell, LA; Son-in-law, Curtis Bickham, Sr; of Franklinton, LA; special friend, Shelia Sims of Franklinton, LA; 18 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Thank you, Mother, for your love and your guidance.

Drive Through Viewing will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on February 4, 2022 at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton, Louisiana. The Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM on February 5, 2022 at Greater Hayes Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
