2 Accused of Murder of 14 Year-Old Girl in Tangipahoa Parish

The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office advises they have ended an 8-month long investigation into the murder of 14 year-old Taysia Folse, whose lifeless body was discovered in a wet grassy area on the side of the road east of Ponchatoula. Click here for that original story

Forensic and physical evidence identified 20 year-old Travon Washington of Hammond as a primary suspect to the case. Washington was located in Franklinton at the Washington Parish Jail. He was  being held on the unrelated charge of Second Degree Murder. Click here for that original story Upon extradition to Tangipahoa Parish, Washington will be charged with First Degree Murder for the death of Folse. 

On Friday February 18, 2022, the TPSO arrested 20 year- old Elijah Williams of Hammond for First Degree Murder in connection with Folse's murder and issued a warrant for Washington's arrest.
