Obituary

Martha Bulloch Floyd

December 15, 1949 - December 3, 2021

Maudena Bulloch Floyd of Lithonia, Georgia passed from this life to her heavenly home on Friday evening, December 3, 2021, following a brief illness.

Martha was born on December 15, 1949, to Rev. Frank Bulloch and Maudena Johnson Bulloch (who died in childbirth) and was then lovingly taken home by her uncle and aunt, Roy Lawrence Sr. and Elvie Johnson Lawrence, as their own child to raise. Martha is survived by her beloved son and daughter-in-law, Jeremy Lawrence (Law and Eleisa) Floyd, beloved daughter, Alisha Daneille Floyd, precious and adored granddaughter, Reagan Floyd, one sister, Patricia Lawrence (Rev. Gerald) Davis, brother, Freddie (Sheila) Lawrence, brother, Bob (Neta) Lawrence, brother, Bruce (Donna) Bulloch, step-siblings, Theresa (Pat) Paddock, Sandra (Sam) Ainsworth, Carmel (Compton) Grantham, and Silas Jenkins, a host of much loved nieces, nephews, cousins, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, several friends who were like family, and many others who were blessed to be one of Martha’s dear friends in this life.

What a heavenly reunion that must have been with those who went before her: her beloved Dad and Mom, Roy Sr. and Elvie Lawrence, sister, Evelyn Elsa Bulloch (survived by husband Rev. Donald) Knight, brother, Roy (Rhoda) Lawrence, Jr., brother, Sydney (Joyce) Lawrence, brother, Billy Ray Bulloch, sister, Sylvia Bulloch (Karl) Grumbach, biological parents, Rev. Frank and Maudena Bulloch, and stepmother, Lanelle Bulloch.

Martha lived most of her adult life in the Atlanta, Georgia area, where she was the church secretary at DeKalb United Pentecostal Church for 30 years. Her talents were many and she was well known far and wide for the thousands of beautiful cards mailed across the nation filled with stickers, funny sayings, personalized messages, and notes of encouragement. Her annual Christmas letter was one of the most anticipated pieces of mail for the many of her family and friends fortunate enough to be on that mailing list. Martha also loved to travel and be with family and friends, especially her gorgeous little granddaughter, Reagan. Wherever Martha was there was sure to be lots of laughter, bedazzled and bejeweled sunglasses, and butterflies. Always gorgeous butterflies.

Two Celebration of Life services will be held. The first memorial will be held on Saturday morning December 11, 2021, at 11:00 am at DeKalb United Pentecostal Church, 1670 Juliette Rd, Stone Mountain, GA 30083, Rev. Myron Wideman, Sr., Rev. Myron Wideman, Jr., Rev. Luke Camlic, and Bishop Donald L. Knight officiating. A viewing and memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 12, 2021, at 3:00 pm at First Pentecostal Church, 14532 LA-21, Bogalusa, LA 70427, Rev. Travis Houston officiating. Interment will follow in the Sanctuary of Peace Mausoleum at Ponemah Cemetery in Bogalusa, LA. Bereavement services provided by Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home, Bogalusa, LA.

Our hope and joy rests in the knowledge that we will meet our sweet Martha again on that Heavenly Shore!
