Obituary

Rodney Ellis Carrier

January 8, 1940 - December 21, 2021

Rodney Ellis Carrier passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at the home of his daughter, Melissa Hines in Bogalusa, LA at the age of 81.  He was a native of Bogalusa and was born on January 8, 1940.

Rodney leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughters Selena Carrier Guzman of Bogalusa, LA; Melissa (Aaron) Hines of Bogalusa, LA; and Tisha (Scott) Thomassen of Franklinton, LA; one sister, Shirley Carrier Pittman of Bogalusa, LA; his grandchildren Toby Mizell of Bogalusa, LA; Matthew (Beth)Mizell of Bogalusa, LA; Ryan (Lauren) Stumpf of Bogalusa, LA; Kaley Kyle of Franklinton, LA; Breanna Sison of Summerville, SC; Austin Thomassen of Franklinton, LA; Lainey Thomassen of Franklinton, LA; and also his 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Rodney was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years Darlene Davis Carrier; his parents Gilbert S. and Myrtis Kuhn Carrier; sisters Velma Graham, Doris Naretto, Ollie Smith, and Joann Mitchell; brothers Elbert “Blinker” Carrier, Louis “Chubby” Carrier, Sidney Carrier, Olin “Rozo” Carrier, and Gary Carrier; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

His daughters will receive family and friends for a Celebration of His Life on January 15, 2022, at “The Place” located at 426 Georgia Avenue Bogalusa, LA 70427, from 12:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M.  followed by a committal service at Pounds-Pool Cemetery in Bogalusa, LA.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Community Care Hospice; ladies of Terrace Baptist Church; coworkers of Riverside Pediatric and Internal Medicine; Tammy Seal Pierce of “The Place”; and family and friends for your many prayers, blessings, and support.
