Floyd Earl "Butch" Tarver

November 19, 1943 - November 13, 2021

Floyd Earl "Butch" Tarver, age 77 and a resident of Franklinton, died Saturday evening November 13, 2021 at his home. He was retired after a long career with Bellsouth/AT&T. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Columbia, MS but also enjoyed Oak Grove Baptist Church and pastor Derek Dantin, and he loved his church family. Butch was a Mason for 55 years and was a member of the Tylertown Lodge and a prior member of the Varnado Lodge. He was a talented gunsmith and loved working to restore them the best he could. Butch could build anything and liked working with his tools. He would always help anyone that needed it and he lived life to the fullest. Butch enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Survived by: Wife: Peggy Jenkins Tarver; Children: Dakota Tarver, Lee Tarver, Tricia Tarver, Alicia Tarver, Jamey Holden, Dustin Holden, Katie Anthony, Carrie Holden; Grandchildren: Ava Hunt, Addi Hunt, Noah Mason, Austin Holden, Henstin Holden, Cadyn Holden, Gabriel Holden, Coby Holden, Hunter Anthony, Levi Anthony, Mason Anthony, Summer Jenkins, Christopher Fisher, Drew Tarver, Skylar Fortenberry, Ariel Kovac; Also several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his father Floyd Lee Tarver, mother Katherine Blalock Ginn, grandparents Percy and Mattie Tarver.

Visitation will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church (19840 Lee Road, Franklinton) on Tuesday November 16th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm. A Masonic Rites service will be held in the church at 2:00 pm Tuesday followed by the funeral service with Rev. Derek Dantin and Rev. Russell Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
