Janet Lynette Creel Carter

December 15, 1959 - November 13, 2021

Janet Lynette Creel Carter, age 61, passed away Saturday night November 13, 2021 at her home in Franklinton, La. A lifelong resident of Washington Parish, Janet loved to spend all her time with her three granddaughters and husband of 46 years, Danny Ray Carter. She had a green thumb and loved gardening and being outside in the fresh air. Janet enjoyed reading, refurbishing antique furniture and most of all her fur babies.

Janet was an old soul and a very wise woman with knowledge to no end. She had a heart of gold and the best sense of humor imaginable. Her world revolved around her family and she was a devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great grandmother known as “Mimi”.

She is survived by: Husband: Danny Ray Carter; Son: Joseph Ray Carter and daughter- in- law Sarah Carter Cook; Granddaughters: Emily Carter, Haley Carter and Lindsey Carter; Great grandchildren: Brody Carter, Kattelaya Mestayer, and Kamelya Mestayer; Sister and Brother in law: Sherri Thomassen Miller and Larry Miller; Nephews: Scott Thomassen, Jason Thomassen and Lane Thomassen and their families; Special Friend: Jennifer Day; Also, numerous loving cousins and friends

She was preceded in death by her Father Charles Creel, Mother Verne Creel, and Grandmother Alphus Thigpen.

A graveside funeral service for her family and friends will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday November 16th in the Springhill-Magee Cemetery with Rev. Daniel Barber officiating.
