Obituary

Mother Deloris Buckley Brown

August 5, 1947 - November 11, 2021

Mother Deloris Buckley Brown was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana to the proud parents of Roy and Helen Buckley.  She was educated in the Louisiana Elementary and Secondary School System, where she excelled in academics.  She was raised in a Christian home and attended Second Baptist Church where she received significant spiritual instruction and training. 

After being joined in holy matrimony to the late Elder Alton Ray Lee and became a member of St. John’s Temple Church of God in Christ; under the leadership of the late Bishop John White, former General Board Member COGIC. She received the baptism of the Holy Ghost and this experience empowered her for the life’s journey. 

Mother Deloris Brown was preceded in death by her parents Deacon Roy Buckley and Helen Buckley.  Son, Broderick E. Lee; Grandson, Ka’Andre Williams; Brothers, LeRoy Buckley, Jr., and Robert Buckley; Sisters, Dorothy Peters and Gladys Williams; Goddaughter, Chimene Tellis; and Special Grandson, Sherman Lewis.

She leaves to cherish her memory, Pastor Bobby Ray Brown, loving and devoted husband; Daughters, Helen Tiffany Lee, and Cona-Lisa (Elder Darrell, Sr.)Williams; adopted daughter, Shakielya Wali;  Stepdaughters, Sheila Brown, Patsy Brown, and  Betty Carter; Stepson, Eldred Brown; Grandchildren, Darrell Williams, Jr., Carissa Lee, Ebony Williams, Ashley Williams, Kayonna Williams, Vincent Williams, Jr., Aisha Williams, Christian Smith, Christopher Smith and Aaliyah Williams;  Great-grandchildren, Raquel Williams, Lillie Bennett, Kingston Cason, Princeton Cason, and Maliya Williams; Brothers, James and Gary Buckley; Sister,  Emma; Favorite Uncle, Willie Short; Goddaughters, Mary Minnieweather-Tucker, Michelle Tellis-Baker, and Adiah Hardy-Morgan;  Godson, Ja’Maine Oliver; Host of Beloved Family and Friends

Funeral service will be Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11 a.m. at St. John Temple C.O.G.I.C. with Pastor Eric Clayton, officiating. 

Crain & Sons Funeral Home of Bogalusa is in charge of all arrangements.
