Obituary

Barbara Borden Hayden

July 02, 1932 - September 18, 2021

Barbara Borden Hayden, a lifelong resident of Bogalusa, passed away on September 18, 2021, at the age of 89.  She was a co-founder of Delta Printing Company Inc, a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church of Bogalusa, a board member of the YWCA, Queen MCCA IV, a member of G.G.’s Ladies Mardi Gras group, and a 50-year member of the Bogalusa Civic League, as well as many other civic associations.  

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Horace Hayden, Jr.; her parents Lionel Borden and Eldora Bennett Borden; sisters Margaret Borden Baumkirchner, Doris Borden McElveen, Ann Borden Pepe Bryant; a brother Lionel “Duffy” Borden, Jr.; and a son-in-law Robert Dale Sibley.

Mrs. Hayden is survived by her children Suzi Hayden Sibley, Terri Hayden Coxe, Horace “Hap” (Julie) Hayden, III, and Hugh Alan Hayden; a sister Jill Borden McDaniel; grandchildren Jay (Lauren) Coxe, John (Jordan) Sibley, Ross Coxe, Lana (Daniel) Leonard, Horace “Hayes” Hayden, IV, Mary Margaret Hayden, Owen Hayden; great grandchildren Ellie Leonard, Luke Leonard, Miles Leonard, Emma Sibley, Lily Coxe, Thomas Coxe, Ryan Coxe, Camille Coxe. 

The Hayden family would like to give a special thank you to the caregivers Shirley Guy, Debra Ramsey, and Sonya Ramsey, for their loving care and dedication.

Visitation will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Bogalusa on Tuesday September 21,2021, from 10:00 a.m. until service time of 12:00 noon.  Dr. Jim Stayton will officiate and pallbearers will be Jay Coxe, John Sibley, Ross Coxe, Hayes Hayden, Owen Hayden, and Charles Morgan.  Interment will follow at Hillview Memorial Gardens.
