Mary Genelda O'Bryant Jenkins

July 16, 1940 - August 22, 2021

Mary Genelda O'Bryant Jenkins, age 81 and  a longtime resident of Gulfport, MS passed away Sunday evening August 22, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport. She was born in Tylertown on June 16, 1940. Genelda enjoyed visiting the casinos along the coast, as well as taking walks on the beach and going to all the different car shows and events. She also enjoyed spending time in Destin with her family to watch the boats pass through the harbor. Genelda liked riding with her husband on their motorcycle and loved hosting big family gatherings at her house.

Survived by: Husband of 65 years: Odies Jenkins of Gulfport; Son and Daughter in law: Joe and Marianne Jenkins of Hattiesburg; Daughter and Son in law: Debbie and John Hadley of Lake Tahoe; Grandchildren: Misty Glen, Joey and Jesse Jenkins, Jeremy Jenkins, Avery Hadley, Jody Hadley, Jason Hadley; Great-grandchildren: Aden, Caroline, Maxwell, Genevieve; Special Niece: Teresa O’Bryant; Special Cousin: Kendall and Janie Smith; Also numerous other nieces, nephews and family members.

She was preceded in death by her son Mitch Jenkins, an infant daughter Lema Sue Jenkins, parents T.C. O’Bryant and Lema Sue Smith O’Bryant, sisters Delois O’Bryant Jenkins, Margie McKenzie, Ramona Magee, Glenda Sue Green, brothers Charles O’Bryant, Danny Oquinn, T.C. O’Bryant, James O’Bryant, Tom O’Bryant, David Lewis.

Visitation will be at Crain Funeral Home (1109 Bene Street, Franklinton, LA) on Wednesday August 25th from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm and after 10:00 am on Thursday. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 pm Thursday with Eld. Duane Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the Duncan Cemetery near Tylertown.
