Quitmon Landrum

April 05, 1931 - August 05, 2021

Quitmon Landrum, a resident of Bogalusa, LA, departed this life in the arms of our Savior on August 5, 2021, at the age of 90.

Quitmon was a Bogalusa High School graduate. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving the Navy from 1950 to 1954.  He was also employed at the Papermill and retired from the State of Louisiana as a prison guard.

Quitmon was a loving family man and enjoyed being with his family and friends, always helping people in his church and community.  He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  While serving faithfully he loved doing missionary work.  Quitmon and his loving wife Maxine Keaton Landrum of 65 years, as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on July 14, 1964.

Quitmon is survived by his wife Maxine Keaton Landrum; his three children Sybil (Hal) Moon of Nebraska, Malcolm (Kareldean) Landrum of Texas, and Dale (Jennifer) Forbes of Utah; one brother, Houston Landrum of Bogalusa; one sister Lena Mae Foster of Washington; twenty grandchildren Mandy Moon Kline, Heather Moon, April Bodenheimer, Cassie Tweten, Nicole Moon, Jared Moon, Bret Landrum, Erica Ramsey, Brandon Landrum, Brooklyn Landrum, Marissa Butikofer, Kara Carpenter, Micaela Hennis, Marc Landrum, Emily Tesene, Shaylon Forbes, Tanner Forbes, Baylee Forbes, Keaton Forbes and twenty great grandchildren.

Quitmon was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Walter Landrum and Leola Woodward Landrum; one daughter, Marcia Jill Landrum; five brothers Jack Landrum, Printiss Landrum, Joseph Walter Landrum Jr., O’Neal Landrum, Delkue Landrum; two sisters Onita Chester and Elda Mae Janney; and one grandson Evan Landrum.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 11:00 A.M. until time for the services at 1:00 P.M. in the Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel with Branch President Randy Helm officiating the services.  Interment to follow at Keaton Cemetery in Angie, LA.
