Masks Required in Courthouses / Jury Trials Suspended

A Court Order signed by 22nd Judicial Court Chief Judge Reginald Badeaux and dated August 5, 2021 states that all persons are required to wear a mask in both the St. Tammany Parish Justice Center and the Washington Parish Courthouse. The order also ordered that

. . . only persons with an in-person Court appearance or have an appointment with an agency in the Courthouse will be permitted to enter

. . . civil and criminal jury trials are suspended during the month of August 2021

. . . potential jurors noticed to appear in either St. Tammany or Washington Parishes on August 9, 16, 23, and 30, 2021 are excused and not required to appear

The Court Order cites, among other considerations, the increasing infection rates in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes as a basis for the Court Order.

The order will remain in effect "until modified specifically by amendment."
