Earnest Warren "Ernie" Loftice

May 20, 1945 - August 25, 2021

Earnest Warren "Ernie" Loftice, age 75 and a resident of Mt. Hermon, died Wednesday morning August 25, 2021 at his son’s home near Arnaudville, LA. After graduating high school, Ernie served as a merchant marine before being drafted into the United States Army. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was decorated for his bravery and dedication. After his military service, Ernie earned a Master’s degree of Business Administration from LSU and worked as a petroleum engineer for Mobil Oil for 27 years. He also taught outdoor on-site petroleum classes as a professor for LSU for 12 years. After retiring, he enjoyed working in his yard, spending time in the outdoors and watching his favorite daytime TV shows. Ernie also enjoyed traveling and riding his motorcycle. He loved his pet dogs and often took in stray dogs in need of a good home.

Survived by: Son: Joseph Loftice and his half-brother Courtney Christian Roy; Brother: Danny Loftice of Franklinton; Sisters: Patsy McReynolds, Faye Whitehead both of Austin, TX; Also numerous nieces, nephews and other family members

He was preceded in death by his parents Daniel Loftice and Annie Stanley Loftice, sisters Wanda Madden, Mattie McReynolds and other family members.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday September 2nd in the Maples Cemetery with Rev. Calvin Crowe officiating.
