Lee "Scott" Kinchen

October 27, 1968 - August 10, 2021

On August 11, 2021, Mr. Lee “Scott” Kinchen passed away at New Orleans VA Medical Center.

Mr. Kinchen was an active member in the United States Air Force for 25 years. Military Service began 1988 OCT 01, Retired as SSG in 2013 AUG 29; DECORATIONS, MEDALS, BADGES, CITATIONS AND CAMPAIGN RIBBONS AWARDED OR AUTHORIZED: Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal with 2 oak leaf clusters, Meritorious Unit Award, AF Outstanding Unit Award with Valor Device, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Service Medal with 5 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal with 2 service stars, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign, Medal with 1 service star, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border with 1 oak leaf cluster, AF Longevity Service, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with 2 'M' Devices with 1 hour glassdevice, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon with 1 service star, AF Training Ribbon, NATO Medal; He was also currently enrolled in college to become a drone pilot.

He is survived by his mother, Bonita “Bonnie” Montero Cothern; Siblings : Wendi Kinchen (Dennis) Raether, (nephew) Colby Lee (Michelle) Kinchen, Bridgette (Tim) Shaw, Megan Kinchen, and Julie Williams (Alan) two great nephews : Jackson Lee Kinchen, Jameson Ford Kinchen, and (nephew) Stetson Shaw; two nieces: Lorelei Shaw and Sophia Kinchen; two pugs: Tucker and Miles; and a host of other family and friends. He also served as a father figure to several throughout his life.

Mr. Kinchen was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Douglas Kinchen; and brother, Blake Anthony Kinchen; and his two pugs: Milo and Stewie.

In lieu of flowers Scott requested donations be made in his name to the K9 rescue Pug Hearts. Donations can be made via Venmo @PugHeartsPaypal.me/pusherswww.pughearts.com

Services will be on August 19, 2021 at Brown-McGehee Funeral Home in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until the Funeral Service at 7:00 PM.
