The Franklinton Mayor and Board of Aldermen met on Tuesday (August 24, 2021) evening and voted to approve the hiring of Nicholas Raiford and Kevin Todd for the Police Department and also approved the hiring of Jordan Pierre and Trevocote Warren for the Public Works Department.
Municipal Clerk Ellen Waskom provided a financial report, concerns about COVID-19 were expressed by the Mayor and several of the Aldermen, and comments regarding animal control issues were made by Alderman Descant. Police Chief Brown, in response to a resident, spoke about the three recent shootings and also spoke about guns, violence, and our youth.
