Kelvin Darnell Holmes

August 17, 1972 - July 23, 2021

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.  Proverbs 1:7

Kelvin Darnell Holmes departed this earthly life on July 23, 2021 at Lady of Angel Hospital in Bogalusa, LA.

Kelvin was a gentle, kind young man who made friends easily. He was a graduate of Bogalusa High School and attended Sullivan Vocational School in Bogalusa.

Kelvin loved his family and enjoyed gathering with family and friends. He enjoyed playing games and watching television. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior on June 3, 2007 and was baptized on June 10, 2007 at New Triumph Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E. L. Powell.

Kelvin leaves to cherish his precious memories a very special son he raised, Demarcus Miller of Bogalusa, LA; his loving mother, Kayla A Holmes; father, Joseph (Linda) Holmes, Jr.; brother, Keith Holmes of Bogalusa, LA; Anthony Holmes of Anchorage, AK, Joey Henry of Bay Saint Louis, Reginald Henry of Pearl River, LA, Sean Hill of Bogalusa, LA; two sisters, Keli Holmes of Pearl River, LA and Jah’Narie Ramsey of Donaldsonville, LA; one niece, Kajarne Henry of  Bogalusa, LA; one nephew, Derrick (Shawanna) Forrest of Seattle, WA; three great nieces, of Bogalusa, LA; one great nephew of Bogalusa, LA; very special friend, Carol Miller of Bogalusa, LA; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Kelvin was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Althea R, Pigott and Cleveland Henry; maternal grandparents, Joseph Holmes Sr., and Oveda Holmes; a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A drive through viewing will be Friday, July 30, 2021 from 12:00PM – 2:00PM followed by funeral service at 2:00PM at Crain and Sons Chapel in Bogalusa with Rev. E.L. Powell – Officiating. Interment will be at Bogalusa Cemetery. 

Crain and Sons Funeral Home – Bogalusa are in charge of arrangements.
