Kenneth Wayne Smith

April 5, 1940 - June 25, 2021

Kenneth Wayne Smith, age 81 and a resident of Franklinton, died late Thursday night June 24, 2021 at Good Samaritan Living Center. He grew up on a dairy helping his family with everyday chores. Wayne was a United States Army Veteran serving as a medic. He trained and showed horses for many years and he was also a farrier. He also had a business repairing windshields. He enjoyed spending time with friends as he made his rounds drinking coffee at Phillip Smith’s and Matt Smith’s office, Gene’s Tire Center and Ace Hardware. Wayne enjoyed fishing, raising his chickens and riding his tractor. He also enjoyed going to cow sales with his brother Qua.

Survived by: Step-daughter: Shannon Holliday of Mt. Hermon; Granddaughter and spouse: Brittany and Drew Milton; 2 Great-grandchildren: Braylen and Avery Milton all of Walker; 2 Brothers and spouses: Phillip and Sylvia Smith, Qua and Judy Smith all of Franklinton; Nephews and Spouses: Matt and Monica Smith, Jim Smith, Mark and Dianna Smith; Niece and a Spouse: Shanda and Byron Addison; Great-nieces and great-nephews: Mattie Smith, Marley Smith, Cody Addison, Daniel Addison, Tera Smith Evans, Aimee Smith, Jonna Jenkins; Also numerous other family members and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years Amy Jo Crowe Smith and his parents Sam and Juanita Smith.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
